After winning a large chunk of change

After winning a large chunk of change from the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, Prabal Gurung decided it only seemed natural to launch a pre-fall collection. “You have to do all four seasons at this point,” he says of his first pre-fall collection, debuting exclusively here on Style.com in this video made during his lookbook shoot with photographer Dan Martensen, who has worked with the likes of i-D, The New York Times, and The Last Magazine. “It’s a huge opportunity to introduce [...]

find a new fall bag

Well it is that time again…time to find a new fall bag. I have to admit when I first started thinking about what kind of bag I wanted to get I pictured the beautiful leather bags by Kooba and Rebecca Mikoff. But I just can’t do anymore…I can’t carry around a heavy leather bag. Maybe it is fine if you live/work in the burbs and your main walk is from the car to the parking lot inside, but I have [...]

I even had a chance to post

Before I even had a chance to post this entry I happened to pop into the Filene’s Basement on Sixth Ave and there was Nancy Botwin’s bag in a black and white patchwork pattern. It was love at first sight and I bought it for far less than the listed price. So far it is a great bag with my only complaint being that it only has one pocket in the inside. (I know I sound like a broken record [...]

I saw the images for the Anya Hindmarch bags

I was pretty impressed when I saw the images for the Anya Hindmarch bags for Target and tried to purchase one this past fall when Target had a number of pop up shops in Manhattan for Fashion Week. Sadly the pop up shop was so mobbed I didn’t even see any of these bags, let alone have a chance to purchase one, and after that I gave up. So imagine my suprise a few weeks ago when I paid a [...]

Speaking of fab Target collections

Speaking of fab Target collections, I have a sneaking suspicion that the Hayden-Harnett collection could be the best ever. Every bag from the collection looks fantastic. The bags hit the store on Dec 28th, so I’m going to make sure I have some money left over after all my Christmas shopping. The above bag is the one I have my eye on for a new everyday commuting bag. I almost bought the original version from HH a few years ago [...]

My HH for Target bag

My HH for Target bag arrived about a month ago and I was thrilled! The mustard/purple color combo looks even better in person than it did online. In person, it is more muted and rich. The hardware really shines on this bag and really makes it look nicer than something found at Target. The weak point is the PVC “leather” as always. At first glance it looks good, but I have a feeling it won’t wear very well. With all [...]

I hit the Foley + Corinna Sample Sale

A few months ago I hit the Foley + Corinna Sample Sale on the second to last day. I was interested in a Mid City Tote even though I knew it would be impractical for an every day bag. Much to my suprise my heart was won over by a green Jet Setter Tote! And as an added bonus, prices has been reduced since the sale was about to end. The Jet Setter has been my every day tote now [...]

I was going to write whole blog

I was going to write whole blog review about the Christian Siriano line for Payless…but then my favorite Fashion Herald went and did all the work for me..MWAAHAHAHA…so I’m going to be lazy and just link. My takeaway for this line is that it is super fun & fierce and SUPER impractical, which I assume is exactly what Christian set out to do. I already have a closet full of insane high heels that are beautiful but I never wear [...]

I stopped by the Rockefeller Center Anthro

For some reason I always feel like I need to have a unique bag for the summer. During hot months leather seems so heavy and oppressive, and I want to carry something lightweight and slightly beachy. For the past too summers I’ve been happily using my JCrew straw tote, but this summer it just wasn’t doing it for me. A few weeks ago I stopped by the Rockefeller Center Anthro to check out the sale section and found the beautiful [...]

I love pretty much anything with studs

I love pretty much anything with studs. If I could wear a wardrobe covered in studs from head to toe I probably would. So of course I did a double take for this Anthro studded leather bag. Of course I would prefer it in black with silver studs, but now I’m just being picky. At $528 it is way out of my budget, so I think I’ll drag my studded Kooba bag out of the closet for a week or [...]
